Little Lives Want High Chairs

We were really honoured that for our first monster, Grandpa offered and built him a wooden highchair. With custom height, it fitted perfectly around our table, so it was used for years until our little monster became too big to be dangling his legs under the table and was able to sit on a grown up chair with the help of a booster seat. Then the high chair turned into the monster's special chair by removing the legs and the tray. To this day, he uses it at breakfast and homework times.

Now, with monster2, we asked Grandpa whether he would oblige again but life has got that bit busier and it has not been possible, so we've had to embark on a research project on high chairs.

To start with, we bought a second hand wooden one (or third or fourth by the looks of it!). It wasn't in great nick, but we were desperate and for £12... it worked for a while. However, it didn't look comfortable, and it must have not felt comfortable either as monster2 very quickly learnt to squeeze her way out of it. Although as she got bigger, all that would happen is that she'd get stuck! So we had to start looking again. I found a very sexy little number... the Cosatto 3Sixty. It looks cool, comfortable and it looks like it will spin! However, at £165, it was a little bit on the expensive side... Looking on parents' forums, people suggested the Ikea Antilop. At £12, you can't go wrong, right? Wrong! Husband hated the look of it and said that under no circumstances should this item make its way into our humble abode.

So, we're still on the prowl... We seem to have found another secondhand one, will let you know how that ends!
